Exam-oriented handwritten-style notes — every page laid out like class notes, with highlighting, boxes and mind maps, built to be read the night before rather than skimmed.
CBSE gives the Class 11 Geography practical 30 marks: a written test of 25 marks set by your school, the practical file 3 and the viva 2. This book covers the whole written test — all six chapters of NCERT’s Practical Work in Geography, Part I, in order, built from CBSE’s 2026-27 curriculum.
Which chapters are covered?
- Chapter 1: Introduction to Maps (3 marks)
- Chapter 2: Map Scale (4 marks)
- Chapter 3: Latitude, Longitude and Time (4 marks)
- Chapter 4: Map Projections (5 marks)
- Chapter 5: Topographical Maps (4 marks)
- Chapter 6: Introduction to Remote Sensing (5 marks)
How are the calculations taught?
Step by step, with the working shown: converting a statement of scale into a representative fraction and back, constructing a graphical scale, and finding local time from longitude, Indian Standard Time and the International Date Line. Every worked answer was calculated again and checked.
How are the constructions and drawings taught?
In stages you can copy with a ruler, a pencil and a protractor: the conical projection with one standard parallel and Mercator’s projection — the two CBSE names — and, for topographical maps, the conventional signs, the contours of each landform with its cross-section. Remote sensing has its stages, sensors and the elements of visual interpretation in charts.
What do you get at the back for revision?
One combined glossary of 187 key terms, tagged by chapter, and one question bank with 90 model answers — fifteen a chapter: 55 from NCERT’s own exercises and 35 practice questions on the same lines. Each chapter also has a mind map, a facts table and one-line answers for the viva, and the book tells you what each exercise in the practical file needs.
The file
- Format: PDF, A4 — works on a phone and prints cleanly
- Length: 170 pages plus cover
- Delivery: instant download link after payment, plus a copy by email
- Free updates: if CBSE changes the syllabus or a correction goes in, the updated file is sent to you at no cost. You never pay twice for the same book.
- Not included: maps of India and of the world, topographical sheets and satellite images are not printed — do those exercises on the sheet and the image in your NCERT book. The practical file itself must be in your own hand. The 70-mark theory paper is a separate book: Class 11 Geography complete notes.
From The Savvy Humanities by Aditi Ojha (Savvy Ma’am). These Geography notes are built from CBSE’s own 2026-27 curriculum and NCERT’s 2026-27 reprint of Practical Work in Geography, Part I; where the textbook itself slips, the notes say so and give the correct version. Savvy Ma’am’s YouTube classes are in Psychology, Sociology and Political Science; there are no video lessons for Geography.
