The complete CBSE Class 11 Sociology paper in one book — both NCERT books, all seven examined chapters, all 80 marks of the theory paper. 236 pages, continuously numbered from Page 1 to Page 236, in the handwritten style the chapter files use: highlighting, boxes, and a mind map for every chapter.
This is not seven PDFs in a folder. It is one file with one contents page, one glossary and one question bank, so nothing has to be looked up twice.
What does “all 80 marks” mean here?
The seven chapters and what each carries. Book 1, Introducing Sociology — 44 marks: Sociology, Society and its Relationship with other Social Sciences (10), Terms, Concepts and their use in Sociology (10), Understanding Social Institutions (12) and Culture and Socialisation (12). Book 2, Understanding Society — 36 marks: Social Change and Social Order in Rural and Urban Society (12), Introducing Western Sociologists (12) and Indian Sociologists (12). These match the unit weightage in CBSE’s 2026-27 curriculum, and the contents page prints the mark column beside every chapter. The remaining 20 marks of the subject are project work.
Why are some Book 2 chapters missing?
Because the CBSE 2026-27 syllabus does not examine them. NCERT’s Understanding Society prints five chapters; the course keeps Chapters 2, 4 and 5 (CBSE Units 7, 9 and 10). Leaving the rest out is deliberate — nothing in this book is time spent on material the paper cannot ask. The chapter numbers printed in your textbook are kept, so B2-2 is the same Chapter 2 you see in class.
How does one glossary cover both books?
One 210-term glossary, alphabetical, with a tag beside each term — B1-1 to B1-4 for Book 1, B2-2, B2-4 and B2-5 for Book 2 — so you can go straight back to the explanation. The seven chapter glossaries hold 223 entries between them; 13 terms are taught in two chapters — Authority, Power, Legitimacy, Law, Norms, Identity, Peer group, Endogamy, Exogamy, Welfare state, Enlightenment, Empirical investigation and Revolutionary change — and each appears once, with both chapters shown, instead of twice with two half-answers.
How many questions are solved, and how are they arranged?
123 questions with full model answers — 70 board-pattern questions (MCQs, passage-based and long answers) and all 53 NCERT exercises across the seven chapters. By marks: 33 one-markers, 27 two-markers, 41 four-markers and 22 six-markers — 383 marks of practice in a single question bank at the back, grouped by chapter.
What does “cross-references as page numbers” mean?
Sociology keeps returning to the same ideas — power and authority appear in Institutions and again in Social Order; Durkheim appears in Institutions and again among the Western Sociologists. In separate chapter files a reference can only say “see the other chapter”. In this book it gives the page, so you can jump straight there.
